LEGAL BASIS

Registration of Trademarks in Nigeria is regulated by the Trademarks Act Cap 436 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 1990.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

1. Authorization of agent form which must be completed and simply signed by the applicant. Notarization of the power of Attorney is not needed.

2. Name, address, and nationality of the applicant. Application Form

3. List of goods for which the application is required.

4. Bromide prints of the mark. Form 3

5. Advertisement of the mark in the Trademarks journal for possible opposition.
